Dr. Q’s Physical Therapy is a cash-based practice that treats active people of all ages who are having difficulty maintaining their normal level of activity and function because of pain that they don’t now how to resolve and many times don’t even know what caused it.

We do this through a process called “Hurricane Method” that consists of 3 steps, which allow us to get to the eye of the storm or issue.

First – “Identify” the issue or potential for an issue through a thorough

                        interview and objective evaluation

Next – “Isolate” the area that needs to be targeted, as it may not be the

site of the pain that can actually be the cause of the pain

Finally – “Individualize” a treatment plan tailored specifically to each

                        client’s needs

This process allows us to provide individualized hands-on care, education, and one-on-one teamwork to allow people to maintain their bodies on their own. So that they are able to resume an active lifestyle

We work with athletes and active people of all ages who are looking to prevent injury or overcome physical issues that are impeding on their ability to remain active in order to help them achieve their goals, whether it is playing college sports or being able to go to yoga 3x/wk.

About Dr. Q's Physical Therapy //

Cash-Based Physical Therapy Practice//

Dr. Q’s Physical Therapy is a cash-based therapy practice, meaning we do not contract directly with insurance companies and patients are responsible to pay in full at the time of the service. Dr. Q chose this model because she was tired of compromising quality of care and it allows her the autonomy to treat patients on an individualized basis. Due to the changes in healthcare, reimbursement for therapy-based services has declined meaning insurance-based practices have to see more patients in order to maintain the business. Increased patient load leads to decreased one-on-one time with the patient and can lead to decreased quality of care for the patient due to the increased demand placed on therapists to produce.

Dr. Q values every patient and is committed to helping patients achieve their goals as quickly and effectively as possible. Having a cash-based practice allows her to do so by enabling her to give exceptional care, implement the best therapeutic techniques, utilize manual therapy, and educate patients. At Dr. Q’s Physical Therapy you are NOT just another number.

What are the benefits of a cash-based practice for patients?

  • Easy access

    • Because we are not insurance-based, ALL patients are welcome whether they are insured or not

    • No need for a Physician referral due to direct access

    • Shorter waiting times – no more overcrowded waiting rooms!

    • Less paperwork

  • Cost effective

    • Physical Therapist are experts in movement issues and the musculoskeletal system, so it makes sense to go directly to a PT when having these issues vs. going to a Physician to wind up in the same place

    • Insurance deductibles are steadily on the rise, so you will be paying cash for PT services anyway until that deductible is met. SO pay cash for one-on-one individualized sessions

    • More can be accomplished in a cash-based practice treatment session as the Therapist is not splitting their time among 3-4 patients/hour, so less treatment sessions are required. What does this mean? You get better FASTER!!! Meaning less out-of-pocket expense and more importantly, less time.

  • A solid patient-therapist relationship

    • You will be seen by the same Therapist EVERY session. This allows for better carryover of treatment and increased recovery time.

    • The Therapist does not have to negotiate with an insurance company, so they can focus on what is important YOU the patient.

    • Treatments are not dictated by insurance companies who are not Doctors of Physical Therapy.

    • Your Therapist gets to know and focus on you and your goals, which will allow a more individualized and effective treatment plan.

  • Transparent pricing

    • Many times when dealing with insurance-based clinics, you do not know what your costs will be and are at the mercy of the insurance company while you wait for a bill.

    • At Dr. Q’s Physical Therapy all costs are clearly communicated upfront.

Direct Access//

What is direct access?

Direct Access means you can be seen by a Physical Therapist without a Physician’s referral. Simply put, if you are having musculoskeletal pain or issues you can go directly to a PT without having to schedule multiple appointments to end up in the same place. Not every state allows for Direct Access, but fortunately Florida does allow for this.

According to Florida Statues Chapter 486.021 (11) (a):

“A physical therapist may implement a plan of treatment developed by the physical therapist for a patient or for a patient by a practitioner of record or by an advanced registered nurse practitioner licensed under s. 464.012. A physical therapist shall refer the patient to or consult with a practitioner of record if the patient’s condition is found to be outside the scope of the physical therapy. If physical therapy treatment of a patient is required beyond (30) days for a condition not previously assessed by a practitioner of record, the physical therapist shall have a practitioner of record
