Who do you treat?
-

What is injury prevention?
-
Injury Prevention is a very valuable service used to identify biomechanical insufficiencies that may lead to injury down the line if unaddressed, this is known as an overuse injury. Most overuse injuries can be prevented with proper training, education, and activity modification. An Injury Prevention program will strengthen the areas of deficit and perfect the client’s biomechanics/techniques to avoid placing excessive undue stress on the body thus preventing injuries down the road.
-
Injury Prevention is extremely important, especially in athletes. Over 50% of today’s pediatric population plays an organized sport, and the rate of sports related injuries has increased significantly. Seeing that nearly 50% of all middle and high school sports injuries are related to overuse why wouldn’t you want to participate in Injury Prevention?!

-

What should I expect at the evaluation?
-
Dr. Q will take you through her proprietary treatment process she calls the “Hurricane Method” that consists of 3 steps, which allow us to get to the eye of the storm or issue.
-
First – “Identify” the issue or potential for an issue through a thorough interview and objective evaluation
-
Information obtained during the interview will guide the doctor in assessing movement patterns, joint range of motion and mobility, muscle strength and flexibility, special tests as needed to isolate the issue.
-
-
Next, the information obtained from the interview and objective tests and measures will allow us to “Isolate” the area that needs to be targeted, as it may not be the site of the pain that can actually be the cause of the pain
-
At the conclusion, the doctor will “Individualize” a treatment plan tailored specifically to each client’s needs. You will be informed of the findings and educated on the diagnosis, course of care, and issued a home exercise program to assist in meeting your goals as quickly as possible.
-
What will a typical session consist of?
-
